This report by IIE presents statistics in table form and in graph illustrations to show enrolment trends of International students studying in the US as well as US students studying abroad, between 2006 and 2008. The first section helps you understand from where students originate, which institutions and fields of study are popular. Section two looks at leading destinations for US students, popular fields of study and duration.

The Institute of International Education (IIE) has conducted an annual census of international students in the U.S. since its founding in 1919. Known as the Open Doors Report since 1954, the project began receiving support from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State in the 1970s.
